What to expect during your first orthodontic consultation?
Your orthodontic consultation is the first step towards achieving your dream smile, which takes around 45 minutes.
During initial stages of the appointment, our team will take photos and X-rays (if you don’t already have updated ones) of your teeth, which will be used by the orthodontist to assess teeth and jaw relationships. When you meet the orthodontist, we will listen to your main concerns, then our friendly orthodontist will examine your teeth, bite, facial shape and jaw relationships.
After a thorough examination, our orthodontist will discuss whether treatment is required at this stage and if so, what are some of the best treatment options appropriate for you.
Our orthodontist will walk you through the photographs and X-rays and make sure you understand the process. Then you will be provided with a summary of the orthodontic issues you/your child has, followed by a customized solution to treat the issue.
In some cases, you/your child may not be ready for treatment, whether it’s because we are still waiting for the optimal growth period, or waiting for growth to slow down. However, don’t worry, our expert orthodontist will guide you on this and ensure we are starting treatment at the most optimal time to achieve the best results.
