What is Invisalign^® treatment?

Invisalign^® treatment uses a series of clear plastic trays called aligners to straighten your teeth. These aligners are custom-made for your unique smile, and completely clear, so most people won’t even notice you are wearing them.

One of the best things about Invisalign^® aligners is that they are removable. This means you can eat all your favourite foods during treatment, and you can take them out as needed for meetings or brushing and flossing – as long as you wear them the recommended 22 hours a day.

How does Invisalign^® treatment work?

Our team will take photographs, X-rays, and digital scans of your teeth to begin your treatment. From there, we will design your custom treatment plan. We’ll send these plans to the lab to fabricate your bespoke aligners.

Once your aligners arrive, we will give you several sets at a time. Every set is shaped a little differently to guide your smile into alignment over the course of treatment. Just switch to a new set of aligners from the comfort of home to progress through treatment!

Types of Invisalign^® treatment

Invisalign^® Comprehensive : This is the full version of Invisalign^® treatment used to fix moderate to major orthodontic problems. It is used to treat both teens and adults and usually takes between 12 - 24 months to complete.

Fast Invisalign^® treatment : There are two treatment options for minor orthodontic cases affecting the front six teeth. Invisalign^® Lite can get great results in as little as six months; Invisalign^® Express uses the same method but can get results in as little as three months.

Invisalign^® First : This version of Invisalign^® treatment is designed for children. At Marvel Orthodontics we encourage children to come in for an early orthodontic consultation. If, at this consultation, they present signs of potential orthodontic issues, we can take a proactive approach and provide some preliminary treatment using Invisalign^® First aligners.

How to look after your Invisalign^® aligners

To experience the best results, you will need to wear your aligners for most of each day of treatment.

Every morning, we advise that you take your aligners out and thoroughly clean both your teeth and aligners.

You need to remove your aligners throughout the day to eat. Just be sure to wash them out with water before putting them back in again. When possible, brush your teeth or wash your mouth out with water before putting your aligners back on.

When not wearing your aligners, make sure to place them in their designated case so they don’t become lost or damaged.
